Our Partnership
Everette and Marquise's partnership began over 20 years ago on the sidelines of their pop-warner football team. Tragedy and triumph deepened their friendship. On November 2, 2007, Marquise’s father died from a sudden cardiac arrest, five days before his 50th birthday. On July 8, 2008, Everette’s stepfather was tragically murdered in Inglewood, California. Hours after his stepfather’s tragic death, Everette came onto their high school football field to tell his teammates about what happened. Marquise saw the look on Everette’s face and began walking towards him. Overcome with grief, and the burden of telling his siblings that their stepfather was gone, Everette collapsed at the 50 yard-line of their high school football field. Marquise was there to catch him. The name 50th Capital Partners pays homage to these terrible losses. It will also ensure Everette and Marquise never forget whence they came, where they're headed, and the lifelong partnership, one based on a true friendship, they forged.
